Holiday Cottages LaCoro is located in the secluded little valley of St. Pere d’Espuig, on the doorstep to the Green Way. For this reason, a number of hikes and mountain bike outings are possible from the very house. You can, for instance, pedal all the way up to St. Joan les Abadesses and then  follow the Ruta del Ferro , or Iron Route, and make this into a round tour if you descend to Colònia Estebanell and then downhill on the Roman Way. St. Pere d’Espuig is off the beaten track, away from the hustle and bustle of the city and the seaside, and by good fortune it has kept its charm and  unspoilt character over the centuries. We all need to make sure that this remains so thanks to sustainable green tourism. This is where you will find our meticulously restored XIII century manor house, now offering you the best of accommodation facilities for your holiday.
The romanesque chapels of St. Pere d’Espuig, St. Martí, Sta. Llúcia, and St. Salvador are but a few of the more than 15 that conform our historical  heritage, and a route has been devised called  Ruta del Romànic de Vall de Bianya which allows even the youngest and oldest to visit them by  boarding a tourist train from our house called Trico-trico. St. Joan les Fonts, within just 5 minutes driving time from our place, has a lava falls trail that can also be taken as a guided walking tour. Once you  are done with this you can drive to Castellfollit de la Roca for a quick stop to take a snap of the houses sitting on the edge of the amazing lava cliff  that looks out to the Pyrennées. After this, you can head for Besalú, where among other things you can see its well-preserved Jewish baths, a  magnificent medieval bridge, and a few really picturesque Romanesque chapels and churches. Within just 15 min from Masia LaCoro, you will find what has now become a classic tour of La Garrotxa county, namely Jordà’s beech, especially  recommendable in autumn, when you can enjoy the amazing shades of suffused red and ocre resulting from the sunrays filtering through the foliage in this forest. You can then proceed to the medieval village of Sta Pau with its spectacular square, then drive along to the hamlet of Mieres, to then  come back to Holiday Cottage LaCoro. There are also those who visit  in April to participate in the now traditional Oxfam Trailwalker Girona race , which usually takes place on 1st April.
The Roman Way, or Via  Augusta, which joins St.  Salvador de Bianya with  St. Pau de Seguries, is a  historical landmark which  can also be travelled on  foot both from the very  doorstep of our holiday  property and parking your  car within 5 min. from it, or  also starting from St.  Salvador. It takes about 1h  30min to cover the round  trip, and you will get the  chance to see a good view  of the Bianya valley and  beyond.
