In addition to what you will have read on our sections “What to see on a two-day tour” and “What do see on a 3-4-day tour” we suggest the following: If you like cliffs and don’t suffer from vertigo, then El Far. Rùpit, i Tavertet are for you. Getting to El Far from Masia LaCoro takes barely 20 minutes. You may want  to pay a short visit to the sanctuary of La Salut after crossing Olot, from which on a sunny day you’ll be able to spot the Canigó peak in the Pyrennées.   Once at El Far, enjoy the magnificent views from the top of the cliff, and then it’s time to head for Rupit, another truly authentic stone village which never ceases to grow but in a very orderly way architecturally speaking, that is. The old houses are actually built on and from the underlying stone and moais may come to mind  while watching these. Many hikes can also be taken from here, among which the one that allows a sight of the talaiotic tombs engraved in the rocks, a testimony to the ancient rituals performed by primeval civilizations. Those of you who would like to go for a bit of a longer walk can try to reach el Salt del Sallent waterfall. As you watch this look under your feet for small marine  fossils and you are bound to find some. If you’d yet like to see more cliffs and another curious village hit the road again until Tavertet, from which you should be  able to see the Sau dam ---------------------------------------------------- Book your accommodation here. and if you are lucky you shall be able to spot the belfry of the rest of the village that still lies under the water. Should you like to see the city of Girona, and you have not yet stopped in Besalú don’t miss this opportunity to see its medieval bridge, Jewish baths, and  Romanesque chapels on your way there. Once in Girona, again you can’t miss the Old Jewish Quarter, or taking a stroll along the Rambla, but I would also  suggest walking along the rampart to get a more global view of the city from the very top. And if you are lucky enough to visit in May, you will probably want to see  the Flower Festival , during which you will also be able to get into a number of private houses which otherwise remain closed to the general public. Those of you who have one week or longer to sojourn,  might also dare to venture to momentarily leave the peace and quiet of our holiday rental cottages    LaCoro to explore the seaside , or simply go on an excursion to the beach. I would also recommend heading for Villajuïga to then drive uphill to the monastery  of St. Pere de Rodes. Now, to get a truly panoramic view of the entire Bay of Roses, you’ll have to hike to the top of the hill - well worth it!   You can now zig-zag drive downhill to Port de la Selva to admire the splendid seaside landscape. If you are lucky you’ll still be in time to take the curvy road that  drives you to the lovely fishing village of Cadaqués, where each alley awaits you with a little surprise, and hometown to word-famous artist Dalí. Do you still have one more day to stay at Holiday cottage LaCoro? Within less than 1 hour’s driving you will also find the medieval villages of Peratallada, Pals,  and Monells, whose common attraction is their charming stone-carved houses and streets. If you prefer to cross the border into France, you can’t miss visiting the villages of Espinavell, Molló, and the path Camí de la Retirada (from which to see the  always imposing peak of Canigó, as well as the Mir Tower.   and maybe Prats de Molló (this should take another whole day), and if you are hot after so many visits, nothing better than to relax at our magnificent clothing-  optional salt-pool back at Holiday Cottages LaCoro). Those who come from afar may also pay a visit to the always vibrant and eclectic city of Barcelona (within little more than a one-hour’s driving distance from our  Holiday Manor House), where you should see the Sagrada Família (always essential to book tickets in advance), La Pedrera and Parc Güell by Gaudí, Tibidabo, and Rambles, and now you are there, the Aquarium is always well worth seeing. Last but not least, Andorra is a real shopping paradise, and you can reach this tiny country in about 2 hours from our Holiday Country House.
